Dekaanin ehdotus PhD Yulia Yaminevan ottamisesta Associate Professor (Tenure Track) in International Law, especially Climate Change Law and Policy, Law School tehtävään: tiedekuntaneuvoston kuuleminen

Itä-Suomen yliopiston johtosäännön 10 §:n kohdan 9 mukaan dekaanin tehtävänä on tehdä ehdotus rehtorille kahdeksi vuodeksi tai sitä pidemmäksi ajaksi professorin tehtävään valittavasta ja opetus- ja tutkimushenkilöstön neliportaisen uramallin vakituiseen tehtävään sekä vakinaistamispolun tehtävään valittavasta tiedekuntaneuvostoa kuultuaan.

Associate Professor (Tenure Track) in International Law, especially Climate Change Law and Policy, Law School, tehtävä on sijoitettu oikeustieteiden laitokselle. Tehtäväselosteen mukaan:" The candidate must have a proven?record of conducting and publishing top-level international research on climate change law and policy, especially on linkages between climate change and air quality, and climate related sciencepolicy interfaces. He/she is expected to have a strong vision and ambition to develop his/her own research agenda and team, preferably in a?multidisciplinary?setting and with a focus on linkages between the air quality and climate change. In particular, one of the key requirements from the appointee is that he/she will regularly develop and implement externally funded research projects and supervise PhD students. The candidate will also participate in?doctoral?training and development of teaching, including in the two Master's degree programmes.?

The?appointee?will collaborate closely with other members of the UEF Law School and CCEEL, especially within the CCEEL Research Group on Climate Change and International Environmental Law.?He/she will also contribute

to multidisciplinary cooperation within the UEF international top-level research community Climate Forcing, Ecosystems and Health.?

The successful candidate will hold a doctoral degree in law or in another relevant field, with demonstrated ability to conduct high-level independent research. Acquisition of external research funding will be regarded as a particularly strong merit. The person to be appointed to the position is expected to be fluent in the English language and to be able to supervise students and teach in English.

The position will be filled for a period of four (4) years starting on 1 August 2023 or as agreed."

Tehtävään on arvioitu PhD Yulia Yamineva. Asiantuntijalausunnot Yaminevan ansioista apulaisprofessuuriin on pyydetty dekaanin 16.8.2023 tekemän päätöksen mukaisesti seuraavilta: Professor Leonie Reins, Erasmus University Rotterdam ja professor Michael Mehling, University of Strathclyde.

Lausuntojen mukaan Yaminevalla on kelpoisuus ja ansiot apulaisprofessorin tehtävään. Kyseisen tehtävän tehtäväntäyttötoimikunta (tutkimusjohtaja Matti Turtiainen pj., professori Emilia Korkea-aho, professori Niko Soininen ja dekaani Sari Rissanen) esittää yksimielisesti asiantuntijalausuntoihin sekä hakemusasiakirjoihin perustuen, että Yamineva otetaan Associate Professor (Tenure Track) in International Law, especially Climate Change Law and Policy, Law School, tehtävään.

Tehtäväntäyttötoimikunnan puheenjohtaja on päätöksellään vapauttanut Yaminevan opetusnäytteen antamisesta, sillä hänen opetusansionsa käyvät ilmi hakemusasiakirjoista. PhD Yulia Yamineva täyttää johtosäännössä mainitut apulaisprofessorin palvelussuhteen ehdot ja tehtävämäärityksessä mainitut edellytykset.

Dekaanin ehdotus rehtorille on, että PhD Yulia Yamineva otetaan Associate Professor (Tenure Track) in International Law, especially Climate Change Law and Policy, Law School, tehtävään neljän vuoden määräajaksi 1.11.2023 lukien. Määräaikaisuuden perusteena vakinaistamispolku Tenure Track.

Esitys Dekaani kuulee tiedekuntaneuvostoa ehdotuksesta PhD Yulia Yaminevan ottamisesta Associate Professor (Tenure Track) in International Law, especially Climate Change Law and Policy, Law School, tehtävään neljän vuoden määräajaksi 1.11.2023 lukien.
